1966 Batmobile Build: Issue 71–72 Seat Install Success + LEGO Tail Lights Progress

Hello Bat-fans! In this episode of Build the Classic 1966 Batmobile, we tackle Fanhome Issues 71–72 and the LEGO tail section. On the scale model side, I install the driver’s seat without breaking any tabs and share step‑by‑step tips to help you avoid those notorious tab breaks. We also prep the passenger seat for the next build. On the LEGO side, we add big rear panels, trim, and very cool triangular brake light elements for a clean “black back platform.”

Fanhome vs. LEGO progress:

- Scale model: 6 parts, 6 steps this episode

- LEGO: 17 steps, 54 parts this episode

Driver’s seat success: my tips to avoid broken tabs:

- Bring the seat down into the frame from the top

- Get one side on first, then ease the other side over the tabs

- Use light pressure and patience at the rigid corners

- Tweezers can help lift the rubber over the tabs

- If foam covers screw holes, the pointed AIP screws will bite through

Note on fit: The driver’s seat sits a bit wonky on the floor pan right now, but it presses flat. Expect it to settle once the passenger seat is in or when the assembly mounts to the chassis. Plastic can warp in heat during shipping, so a slight bow isn’t unusual.
