Greetings, BAT fans, and welcome back to BrickScale Studio. In today’s 1966 Batmobile Progress Report, I’m recapping the last four build episodes (45–48) in our side-by-side comparison: Fanhome 1:8 Classic TV Series Batmobile vs the LEGO Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile (76328).
These progress report videos happen every four episodes, so if you missed anything over the last month, this is the perfect catch-up before we roll into the next build.
#### Recap (Episodes 45–48)
LEGO build highlights:
- Added the siren, windows, lights, and the rear “missile launcher” tubes
- Started and finished the fins, then attached them
- Began the next section that will eventually mount into the body
Fanhome (scale model) highlights:
- Installed a major frame section and connected components
- Added lock mechanisms and attached a large body section
- Installed exhaust stacks (often called “missile launchers” in the show), plus the trunk lid
- Started the door build with hinges, paneling, and latch/handle details
#### Build totals (to date)
- Fanhome (1:8 scale model): 423 steps, 536 parts
- LEGO (76328): 702 steps, 1,715 parts
At this pace, it still feels like the LEGO build might finish before the scale model, and that is totally fine.
#### Missile launchers vs exhaust pipes (quick note)
You will hear me call the three rear-deck tubes “rocket launchers” or “missile launchers.” The Fanhome instructions refer to them as “exhaust stacks,” but after doing some research, they line up more with the TV series anti-theft system (smoke/fireworks, and sometimes missiles/rockets). If you know something different, drop a comment below.
#### What’s coming next
- Next Saturday’s build: circling back to Issues 93 and 94, then we continue with 99 and 100
- Titanic build video on Thursday (lots of windows coming up)
- March 17: LEGO Creel House (Stranger Things) review (minor spoiler warning if you are not caught up)
