Today on BrickScale Studio, we’re doing a builder’s-eye review of the LEGO 2026 Modular: Shopping Street (Set 11371). This one is packed with technique choices that kept me paying attention the whole build, especially how LEGO handled the geometry, the angled walls, and the way everything locks together with surprisingly clean seams.
Set stats: 3,456 pieces • 7 minifigures • $249 USD • no stickers (printed elements!)
#### What I nerd out on in this build
- Angles + seam control: This set leans hard into angled architecture, but the big win is how well LEGO minimizes gaps where the geometry meets up.
- Brick-built “hinge” approach (vs. standard hinges): A lot of the shaping is done with a clever, brick-built method that lets LEGO dial in the angle without relying on large prefab hinge assemblies.
- Bridge / tower connection: There’s a connection method here that felt unusual in a good way, and it changes how the tower section “rests” and ties into the rest of the build.
- Roof engineering: The left-side roof builds into a structure that reads like an exposed beam ceiling, which is not the typical “flat plate ceiling + rooftop details” modular approach.
- Printed parts where it matters: I always appreciate printed elements in a modular, and this set delivers, including printed windows.
- Storytelling details (without spoiling everything): There are a bunch of little build moments that pay off later, including some fun exterior/back-alley details and rooftop bits.
#### Quick note on bags (North America paper bag transition)
This set includes a mix of plastic bags and internal paper bags. Be careful when opening the paper bags because small parts can cling to the inside.
